How does it feel when people can always be connected to the internet and stream videos while waiting for the bus, even shopping at traditional markets? It seemed to be felt in South Korea.

The three main mobile operators namely South Korea KT, SK Telecom and LG UPlus said that they would
invest in 1000 site that offers free WiFi. Thus, there will be 2000 free WiFi locations, plus what's available now.

Free WiFi was initially widely available in libraries, government offices and bus terminals in South Korea. The plan was initiated by the Korean Communications Commission (KCC).

KCC will support local authorities and service providers to provide the best service for residents with free WiFi facilities in places such as markets, health centers, and other government facilities.

In addition to South Korea, countries in Asia such as Japan is already starting to build more Wifi Internet. Connect Free, is one of the free WiFi service provider in Japan that offers free WiFi service in many locations.

Quoted WTC from VR Zone, Saturday (10/20/2012), Taiwan is the first start of this trend. Taipei city government has started to introduce free WiFi service throughout Taipei since 2011.
